With the high development of modern electronic technology, the types andquantities of electronic equipment increased rapidly, leading to a growing problem ofelectromagnetic compatibility. However, the methods used in EMC fault diagnosis wereless, and the level of automation on EMC test was low. It’s necessary to developautomatic test system on EMC fault diagnosis.In this paper, the design scheme of automatic test system on EMC fault diagnosiswas proposed according to the present situation of EMC fault diagnosis and test. First,the characteristics of EMC fault were studied, including the three elements of EMC andEMC classification. On the basis of fault tree analysis, this paper proposes a centered onthe three elements of EMC of general EMC fault tree model, and has carried on thedetailed analysis process. According to the classification of EMC fault, the conductedemission and radiation emission testing method is studied. Based on the relevantknowledge of automatic test system, the technical scheme was determined, includingthe system hardware and software development environment. Based on the generalprocess for software design, the system was developed. Finally, the system was verifiedthrough an EMC fault diagnosis example.
