Synchronous Seanning Circuit For The Streak Camera

Streak camera is the high-end science measurement and diagnostic equipment withboth high time resolution and high spatial resolution. It is the necessary means ofmicrocosmic measurement and ultrafast detection process. In order to improve thestreak camera time resolution and spatial resolution, high performance synchronousscanning circuit is required. Synchronous scanning circuit is an important factor thataffect the performance of streak camera.This paper describes the design and research of the synchronous scanning circuitthat used in the high performance streak camera. After introducing the researchbackground of the streak camera and the characteristics of the synchronous scanningcircuit, there is a detailed description of streak image tube and tunnel diode that used forthe synchronous circuit design. we analyze the physical structure of the tunnel diodeand the voltage and current characteristics of the tunnel diode. This paper introduces thecharacteristics of some circuits associated with tunnel diode and provides a theoreticalbasis to the design of synchronous scanning circuit. Then it introduces the designmethod that generate synchronous scanning signal based on the tunnel diodemonostable circuit. we use the tunnel diode monostable circuit to generate therectangular wave and the synchronous scanning signal can be generated by passing thefilter. Finally introduces the design method that generate synchronous scanning signalbased on the tunnel diode bistable circuit. we analyze the working principle of thebistable circuit and the generate process of the synchronous scanning signal, in the endwe get some experimental results. The design method of the synchronous scanningcircuit in this paper that used for high-performance streak camera has a greatsignificance to raise the scanning circuit control module function of the streak camera.The main research significance of this paper: two design methods of synchronousscanning circuit are introduced and they provides important reference to the design ofthe synchronous scanning circuit.
