Event detecting application is wildly used in WSNs and CPS. As the developmentof industry grows, nodes can be equipped with more advanced sensing componentslike camera sensor. But till date, most of the proposed schemes do not study theexistence of Heterogeneous Sensing Nodes. We are the first one to propose the conceptof Heterogeneous Sensing Components and Nodes, to study DeterminateHeterogeneous Coverage Model and Random Heterogeneous Coverage Model, andpropose delay and energy bounded event detecting method based on heterogeneouscoverage model. The main contribution as followed:First, we are the first one to propose the concept of heterogeneous sensing nodes,which is one node equipped with many heterogeneous sensing components. Differentheterogeneous sensing components have different sensing model. Our heterogeneoussensing node is equipped with at least one Sector Sensing Components and at least oneDisk Sensing Components, and we study D-S-Heterogeneous Coverage problem andpropose Determinate Heterogeneous Deployment Model base on60and45degree, thewasted coverage rate are respectively0.018and0.083under theoretical result, at lastexperimental result verify the low wasted coverage rate and the importance of theHeterogeneous Sensing Nodes.Second, we study four Heterogeneous Sensing method based onD-S-Heterogeneous Coverage Model, they are separately Unique HeterogeneousSensing, Double1-hop Near Neighbor Sensing, Multiple1-hop Near Neighbor Sensingand Multiple Multi-hops Near Neighbor Sensing. And we propose a DistributedHeterogeneous Sensing Algorithm and Distributed Heterogeneous Detecting Algorithmwhich are suited WSNs. At the last, the theoretical result and simulation verify thisalgorithm is delay and energy bounded. Third, we study and analysise the Heterogeneous Coverage problem underIndeterminate Deployment, and propose S-D-Random HeterogeneousCoverage(S-D-RHC). We give the probability of S-D-RHC with analysise and studythe relationship of two different components, and prove the correctness and verify thetheoretical results by simulation.
