The Design And Implementation Of Undergraduate Graduation Design Management System For Shenzhen University

With the development of information technology, electronic management springs up like mushrooms; information management has penetrated every corner of society. The graduation project management is an essential part of educational institutions. In the past few years, Shenzhen University uses traditional manual management way for student’s enrollment files as well as information of graduation project, and there are many shortcomings of this way, and it will bring many inconveniences to the late management. In recent years, the scale of undergraduate enrollment in Shenzhen University is growing, leading to some difficulties faced by teachers in charge of graduation project and administrators related to college and department. With the increasing number of students managed, the link between the data is also increasing, and the amount of data is gradually increasing so that in the future it may grow exponentially, thus how to handle issues of graduation management become an urgent problem.The design and implementation of the graduation project management system for Shenzhen University are discussed in five parts of the text, introduction, needs analysis, outline design and detailed design, implementation and testing, and summary and scape, making detailed discourse of this graduation design. The system is based on B/S framework, only the front-end (Browser) and server-side (Sever) can make up the frame structure of the system without the need of configuring additional system environment. Users who need services just need to apply for services on browsers, and then most of the work can be done by the server. The three layers of J2EE, presentation layer, business logic layer, data access, can solve problems. Adopting open source Struts2to simplify the development process and reduce the difficulty of development, resulting in clearer transaction demarcation and more efficient processing.According to the actual process and the specific circumstance of the graduation project management of Shenzhen University, the role of users of this system were divided into four roles in general, including teachers, assessment specialists, students, college and department administrators (eg:education secretary, college and department head, teaching and research office head). System covers various management aspects, like task, assignment book, opening report, mid-term examination, papers upload and exchange, hardware and software upload and acceptance, graduation thesis defenses, performance management, summary of graduation project work, outstanding project recommendation and audit, paper examine, etc.; system also have functions of process monitoring, data statistics and history view to meet the needs of graduation design (thesis) management work in institutions of higher learning.System has been implemented and tested but has not yet been formally putted into use. It is still necessary to find loopholes and identify deficiencies in the formal operation of the system for the future perfection and development of the system, truly facilitating the school management and easy to use for users and achieving the purpose of simplifying the work.
