The Research And Implementation On Network Security Monitoring System In Some Division Of CAPF

With the continuous development and progress of science and technology, informationtechnology has become an important strategic resource, is the goal of building a modernarmed forces the task of national defense and army building. The Chinese People’s ArmedPolice Force（CAPF for short）is an important armed force in protecting the safety of countryand maintaining the social stability. It performs the duty of personal protection to seniorgovernment officials and major public events, guard to the government leading organizationsand other target buildings, guard to the civilian prison and anti-terrorism. The informationnetwork of CAPF is an office automation network which integrates a variety of applications.It covers all the units belongs to the CAPF. The information network of CAPF establishedtightly around the central task of performing guard duties, dealing with emergencies andcombating terrorism. In addition, has many characters like: comprehensive and multi-function,resource sharing, security and restricted. The information network of CAPF aims at highspeed transmission and coverage all over the army. So it supplies a comprehensive platformwhich integrates voice, image, data and multimedia to the CAPF, it also lays the foundation ofinformation construction. However, with the development of network technology, thesituation of network security becomes more serious. The security of information increasinglybecomes one of the viral bottlenecks to the information development of CAPF. CAPF tostrengthen the construction of information network security is to achieve security and stabilityto ensure the armed forces, but also the major task force of security management.With the background of information network security construction in one Division ofCAPF, this paper introduced such network security techniques like: fire wall, VPN, IDS indetail. The research analyzed the security caves occurred by computer network, andsummarized the security threats faced by the information network of CAPF. By comparisonwith the traditional network security techniques, the research lead the necessity of networksecurity monitor. Based on the security threats facing at present, the research analyzed thesecurity necessity and promoted a solution. The research also designed a security monitoringsystem for the real condition of information network of this Division. At last, it introduced the principle and the implementation process of this design, stated the important elements to theimplementation and discussed some key techniques during the using in the system. Thesystem continuously through the network and equipment monitoring, the ability to detect theuse of switches, routers, servers and other hardware devices for network administrators todetect poor performance running equipment, found fault save time and improve efficiency.For security alarm events that occur also through other timely notification to the manager,with a strong practical.The research tightly around the real situation in the information network of someDivision of CAPF. The result can provide some reference the construction of informationnetwork in CAPF.
