With the increase of cars, the requirements of maintenance is increasing significantly.The maintenance services has become the public spotlight and the maintenance industry isfacing new challenges. The artificial way to manage the information is not only inefficientand error-prone, and it is also insecure. And in practice, to find and maintain the data are noteasy to achieve, error-prone, resulting in increased management fees, service quality isdifficult to be guaranteed, thus affecting the competitiveness of enterprises.With its development, information technology has been widely used in many fields, andautomotive repair industry is one of the typical. A direct impact on the automotive repairindustry is the change of business model and the enhancement of the demand of thecomprehensive quality of the staff of the enterprise. In China, the automotive repair industryhas gradually changed from the traditional management model towards informationmanagement. One of the softwares’ advantages is to have changed the previous tediousmanual operation mode into automatic computer management, saving labor, material and time.The other one is to have changed the previous disorder and disorganization into organized andscientific management to increase privacy and security.Basing on the understanding of the car repair business, we have developed this set ofprofessional vehicle maintenance management software particularly for the automotiveservice industry. The system is divided into the basic data management module,pick-registration module, material management module, system query module and systemmaintenance modules that have their own sub-modules. In each of the sub-modules can berealized such functions of the new relevant information as save, delete and query, and it isclosely related to vehicle maintenance processes and parts management process, which is thecompany’s most urgent concern. The system maintenance module includes: managementsettings, password changing module and exit system, which offers more for administratorsto complete system management support.Based on J2EE platform, the whole system uses B/S architecture. It has pick-up detailcapabilities to effectively manage it. It also has materials management capabilities to achievemanagement of the sales of accessories and of the out-of-storage accessories. The systemprimarily uses MyEclipse as the development tool, Microsoft SQL Server2000as the back-end database, Internet Explorer as the browser. The Java Web application developmenttechnology of EXTJS AJAX and Struts Hibernate Spring Framework, as well as the Tomcatserver, etc. Are used to improve programming efficiency.Following the software engineering methodology and information systems developmentpractices, the paper takes the system development process as the main line. It first discussesthe feasibility of developing this system, and after analyzing the needs, it determines themodules included and the functions of each module. It shows the system’s functional blockdiagram, rendering the overall data flow diagram and ER diagram. From the role of thesystem, it analyzes the main cases involved in the system and draws the case diagram. Thepaper designs the database and gives the data table structure included in the system. Finally,the paper gives the requirements of the security and integrity of the system. Based on theabove, the design of each module of the system is completed and the detailed description ofthe main module is achieved.The system maximizes convenience for the uses in terms of functionality, and makes theoperation more efficient, accurate and convenient. Each module has the function to add,delete and modify the information. There is also a variety of search functions, which allowsthe operator to easily and accurately find the information needed, too.The process of conducting the design has enhanced the master of Java Web applicationtechnology and SQL Server2000database management systems, and improved the ability tosolve problems independently.
