Optical fiber communications are faster, more accurate, more safety. Today, optical communication plays an important role in the information transmission system with the electrical communication substituted. But fiber optic connector is an important restriction for the rapid development of optical fiber communication. This paper describes the interferometry of measuring the optical fiber connector parameters, and proposes to improving the traditional interference by physical methods.This paper analyzes several important parameters of fiber optic connectors, studies the interference principle of NC/AC3000type interferometer. This interferometer obtains interference images of fiber end face according to Michelson interferometer principle,measures the relative height by displacement method, draws the three-dimensional image of the connector by interferometer software system, and calculates parameters of the connector.This paper describes the main measurement methods of the radius of curvature of the connector end and APC type connector. Through analysing the image interference, and using Newton’s rings curved lens measuring principle, we can measure the radius of the interference image, then calculate the radius of curvature of the fiber optic connector end face and the angle of APC connector end face. We can find that Error with in2%. This method does not improve the interferometer and interferometric methods. And because reduce the number of the phase shift steps, the detection time can be reduced and the detection efficiency can be improved. To some extent, errors are reduced, and it will have practical significance on the production and testing of fiber optic connector.
