In recent years, the research on Wireless sensor network has attracted more attention in broad fields. It is an intelligent information system with some good features on data collecting, transporting and handling. There are good prospects for research and development.Wireless sensor network system mix together a lot of technologies. Time synchronization is a support technology of collaborative work in the whole network system. There are many applications that are needed for time synchronization process, such as the positioning of nodes in the network, the integration of network data, time division multiple access technology and routing protocol. So time synchronization technology is very important for wireless sensor network to be working normally, and it plays a decisive role in the level of reliability for wireless sensor. However, researchers of sensor network time synchronization meet many challenges that are in sensor network due to receive energy restriction of sensor nodes and limitations of distributed processing and computational resources. It is have been focus of the current international academic research.This paper studies the wireless sensor time synchronization algorithm. By analyzing the various types of time synchronization algorithm, and finally choose the flooding time synchronization algorithm. Because flooding time synchronization algorithm is superior to other time synchronization protocols in some respects such as degree of accuracy, convergence, scalability, robustness, energy consumption, etc. But the flooding time synchronization algorithm has its drawbacks. So by improving the flooding time synchronization algorithm based on two sides that are cost of energy and synchronization precision.NS2as the simulation tool is used in this thesis, by setting the simulation scenarios to evaluate the promotion flooding time synchronization protocol from energy consumption and accuracy requirements both. By the end of the experimental result shows that:compare the improved flooding time synchronization algorithm with the former algorithm, the improved algorithm is significantly reducing energy consumption and improving the synchronization accuracy, and the desired objectives of user requirements has been achieved.
