Wireless sensor networks(WSN) includes wireless communication technology, sensortechnology, distributed computing technology and networking technology. It provides a new dataacquisition and develops a new business of Internet of Things in the communication network.Time synchronization is of primary importance for the operation of wireless sensor networks,such as time division multiple address, rout protocol, data fusion, location, and coordinatedactions, and they all require common time on WSN nodes. So time synchronization has becomea hot topic research area in wireless sensor networks.This thesis focus on time synchronizationprotocol in wireless sensor network. The main work is as follows:Firstly, it briefly introduces the knowledge of development, architecture, characeristic andapplications of wireless sensor networks. And it summarizes the development, features andsecurity issues of time synchronization protocol in wireless sensor networks.Secondly, it analyses the fundamental principles and influencing factors of timesynchronization protocol. It also summarises and compares the existing typical wireless sensornetwork time synchronization protocols.Thirdly, it introduces the flooding time synchronization protocol in wireless sensor network.According to the accuracy and robustness shortcoming in the flooding time synchronizationprotocol, it presents an improved method of the linear regression algorithm in the flooding timesynchronization protocol, consolidates the current synchronization cycle clock and lastsynchronization cycle's drift rate, so that to reduce the clock drift rate fluctuations caused by theabnormal data. The simulation results show that the improved linear regression algorithm notonly improves the accuracy of the estimate of the original algorithm, but also improves theaccuracy of the synchronization protocol. Meanwhile, according to the safety vulnerability in theflooding time synchronization protocol, it promotes a security detection method. The simulationresults show that this method can filter out the error synchronization information, effectivelyenhance the reliability of the protocol.Finally, it concludes the whole thesis and presents some future work.
