With the rapid development of social economy, the urban car ownership continues to increase, so the urban traffic crowded problems need to be solved, so realize accurate, efficient and diversified with real-time traffic information collection is an important premise to solve the traffic problems. All kinds of information acquisition technology usually can not fully meet the demand, such as OD.data, that is the traffic between the initial point. Therefore, modern transportation systems need more comprehensive information collection and detection technology, we must put the vehicle and road to be considered together, which can be applied to various traffic conditions in real time, accurate and efficiently. At present, the RFID technology has achieved many good applications in the public transportation card, no parking charge, parking management, highway driving speed monitoring and so on. The RFID technology, which makes the urban traffic intelligent and the application model of car networking, has been favored by more and more experts. So the application research of RFID technology in urban traffic system has a great significance.The RFID technology principle of information collection and SQL Server database are introduced first. And according to the current situation of the traffic information collection, the introduction of RFID technology is used to collect the urban traffic information. The study on the improvement fusion of Kalman filter has been done based on their respective characteristics of traffic collected by RFID technology and coil sensor technology, in order to improve the accuracy of the traffic information collected by RFID technology.Selected the area which the traffic information has been collected as the research object in this paper, and build a SQL Server database to simulate the traffic information collected by the RFID technology, the method of accessing the local area’s traffic volume is studied, also put forward a method to obtain the dynamic OD data based on RFID technology. Compared with the mature method of back stepping technology, the experimental results show that the method in this paper has higher accuracy and superiority.Finally, propose a method to predict the traffic flow based on the regression of license plate matching, which is referred to K neighbor nonparametric regression model. Considering the driving habits and trip characteristics of driver, the proposed method has made full use of the RFID technology to collect information as the sensor about the advantages of automatic identification license plate, providing a new way for intelligent traffic control and real-time guidance.
