Hunan Satellite TV is an entertainment-oriented channel. It climbs to the head of the audience rating list, in the help of "Happy China" theory. Although Hunan Satellite TV makes great success in the variety show and the reality show, its sports entertainment show also attract people’s attention. In2012, Holland, the big exporter of the TV grogram, created a new sports entertainment show, named CELEBRITY SPLASH. The TV program attracted a lot of countries to buy the copyright, including China. The paper thereby thinks TV program market may lead a new trend of the fashion of the sports entertainment show.In China, the sports entertainment show was born in the1990s and has enormously benefited from the Beijing Olympic Games, with complicated historical backgrounds, such as the communication of the modern sports culture, the progress of the leisure industry chain, the trend of media market operation and the widely welcome of the "Olympics" concept. In the era of "Post Beijing Olympic Games", the sports entertainment show is still hot on the television screen. Hunan Satellite TV has a lot of experience in making the ports entertainment show, launching some successful programs, such as DCOUNTRY BALL GRAND CEREMONY, AHEAD OF THE OLYMPIC GAMES, and JUST GO.Taking the sports entertainment show of Hunan TV as the main research content, this essay defines the concept of the Sports entertainment TV show. Based on the research areas of this essay, I defines the Sports entertainment TV show as following: a kind of television program which take the sport as the content, the game as the form, the public participation and interaction as the aim, the entertainment as the purpose, with the help of modern scientific and technological means making the participants and television viewers get physically and mentally released. On the basis of positioning analysis, the essay tries to research on communication characteristics of sports entertainment shows in Hunan TV. With the analysis of the positioning about the types of programs, the essay inspects the communication characteristics of the sports entertainment show in Hunan TV. The researches focus on some unique approaches of Hunan TV, including the program demands, the programming packing, the practice of program scheduling, and the social benefit of the program and so on. During the research of the sports entertainment show in Hunan TV, the successful experiences are the main target field. However, the essay still keeps an eye on its shortcomings. Based on both its successful experiences and shortcomings, the essay offers some pertinence proposals to the sports entertainment show of Hunan TV.
