The traditional network exposes more and more weakness because of the complexity and diversity of applications. The gap between the needs of applications and network infrastructure is increasing and traditional network cannot meet the needs of increasingly complex applications. All of this promotes the next-generation network architecture which is open, scalable, universal and controllable being widely studied. The Flexible Architecture of Reconfigurable Infrastructure based on the theory of Atomic Capability is promoted by National973Program "Researches on the Flexible Architecture of Reconfigurable Infrastructure". As a kind of next-generation network architecture, it builds a functional dynamically reconfigurable network. However, the study of Atomic Capability network is of great significance.As a basic component of Atomic Capability network, business flow’s performance provided by Service Chain directly affects the quality of service for business flow. For this problem, this paper makes a deeply study on building the best Service Chain and proposes a method of building Service Chain based on performance model. The main research results and innovations include:1) According to the characteristics of data flow in modern network, the performance model like end-to-end delay upper bound and backlog upper bound for FBM business flow in a tandem service chain is built using stochastic network calculus as the tool of calculating network performance.2) A service chain expression is created and arbitrary service chains can be expressed by it. Then, we design a service chain simplify algorithm based on service chain expression so that we can simplify all service chains and process them as tandem service chains.3) A service chain building method is designed based on performance model, service chain expression and service chain simplify algorithm. Then, a service chain automated building tool based on performance model is designed and implemented with service chain building method as core theory. After it, we show an example of using the tool to build a service chain with the function of IPv4routing and forwarding. Finally, we write a simulation program to verify if the building result is right or not.
