With the development of the aerospace industry, a variety of airborne equipments areintegrated with more and more functions to perform the missions. In this process, a largenumber of signals should be real-time processed. The current monitoring system consists ofan industrial computer, which is equipped with a variety of board-level testing composition,so it is heavy and huge in size. As an essential tool for the testing session, spectrum analysissystem plays an irreplaceable role. The paper made analysis and comparisons of existing spectrum analyzers. The paperdesigned proposed real-time spectral analysis system with low frequency signal solutions inaccordance with the requirements. Microblaze is Xilinx soft-core of the SOPC (System on aProgrammable Chip). Hardware circuit system includes programmable circuit, signalacquisition circuit, FPGA control center, a storage unit and a display module. The system isnot only able to process the signals, but also to store the results which are used in the lateranalysis. Giving full play to the advantages of FPGA embedded, the system can beimplemented in hardware on the soft configuration, making the design more flexible. Throughtesting and analysis repeatedly, the design ultimately achieves the real-time spectrum analysisfunction.Take the spectrum analysis results of PC collected, testing results of FFT IP core, andMatlab spectrum to compare with their performance. Experimental result shows that thedesign of embedded soft core has many advantages, but there is a broader improvement and itis worth to be a further study in future.
