At present, the atomic sensor is a precise sensor, it is widely used in the high precisionnavigation, the fundamental physics and the medical research, so it becomes a hot field ofsensor. The semiconductor lasers plays an important part in the atom sensor, the factor suchas its stability, the line width and so on has a great influence to the technique data of atomicsensors. In the article, according to the technical indexes of atomic sensors and thedevelopment status of semiconductor lasers, we designed an external cavity semiconductorlasers system and a simple practical frequency stabilization system, so as to replace theexpensive imported semiconductor lasers.First, we studied the application and development of the atom sensor, researched thehistory of the semiconductor lasers, the development of the main types of semiconductorlasers on the market now; then we integrated atom sensor technology technical requirementsand the actual situation of the semiconductor lasers. Finally we determined the main researchcontent of this article.Secondly, we designed the whole system framework of the external cavity semiconductorlasers. According to the basic principle and sampling circuit design of the temperature controlsystem, based on the feedback control circuit design of current control system; In order tomaintain long-term stability of the output frequency from semiconductor lasers, the frequencystabilization system is designed based on Zeeman frequency stabilization principle.Finally, we used the DFB packaging795nm wavelength of laser tube by the Newportcompany produced to test our system. In the first place, in the absence of the frequencystabilization system, we tested the stability of the temperature control system and the currentcontrol system in this external cavity semiconductor lasers. The temperature control systemin the range of±1.50×101℃at room temperature, the temperature control precision is betterthan the1.81×10-3℃,the standard deviation is less than2×10-4℃.The current adjusting range of0-2.00×102mA,the ripple is less than1.00×102nA.And it is concluded that stability of thefrequency is1×10-9in10s;Second,after using the frequency stabilization system, we testedthe frequency stability of the laser, and it is concluded that the stability of the frequency is1×10-10in100s.
