A Study And Comparison Of Methods For Excel Data Imported To Oracle Database

With the development and popularity of the Internet technology, the pace of information exchange speeds up continuously and information management plays a more and more important role in improving the efficiency of enterprises and enhancing their competitiveness. Shanghai Triman Information&Technology Co., Ltd.(abbreviated as Triman Company) puts forward a requirement to construct its enterprise information management system due to the constant development of its business, continuously expanding scale, and the existing management mechanism to restrict its development in recent years. Triman company usually uses Excel software to input and save its business data. Although Excel software has excellent abilities in data processing and graphic display, there is a big gap between that and management and application of data stored in relation database management system in respect of data security, data sharing and applications. Excel data importing module of the Triman enterprise information management system has been designed and developed by author of this paper referencing software engineering methods from perspectives of investigation, requirement analysis, coding implementation, etc.; in addition, some technical difficult points in actual development process have been analyzed, described and solved by techniques from the above perspectives.The main research and development work of the author in the paper is summarized as follows:1. The actual needs of Excel data importing module, corresponding structure of the database table, coding, test and other aspects have been analyzed, designed and implemented by following the software engineering knowledge and methods. The Excel data including staff basic information, contract basic information (including Purchase Contract, Sales Contract), project basic information, project detail information have been imported into the corresponding Oracle database table.2. According to the Excel files and business processes of different businesses, the structure of database tables has been designed and implemented in combination with Triman companies’s business relevance. 3. Detailed programming has been designed and implemented based on the corresponding data-importing functions of Excel files.4. Reasonable algorithms have been used in programming, in order to solve the difficulties of data-importing module. In addition to completing the basic import functions, different types of data import methods have been optimized against a relatively large background of data. For example, in terms of the problem of SQL*Loader component loading large amounts of data which is more time-consuming, data import methods have been optimized to improve the data loading speed; in terms of data import module, Oracle database performance tuning methods have been used to reduce the running time of the program and module error data Feedback has been optimized to improve the user experience.Due to establishment of data import module, the workload and difficulty of a large number of historical data into the information management system has been simplified, data management has been standardized, and data import module has provided strong support for decision-making, enterprise data sharing and data statistical analysis.
