Intelligent Transportation System refers to information and communications technologies that improve the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the surface transportation system, usually through data exchange between vehicle electronic devices. MANET is a typical application of intelligent transportation system, services covering the entire road system, MANET have to collect road conditions, monitor air exhaust content, track moving vehicles, recover stolen vehicle, manage road congestion, give the best route proposal and other functions. Remote information processing in vehicle has broad application prospects in the business. By embedded devices in the moving car and the integration of dedicated background systems, cars are able to communicate through wireless data.Currently real-time traffic information service needs gradual growth, we should try to merge the existing infrastructure into MANET to support existing services. MANET has obvious difference with traditional networks, cars are moving, the speed and direction of the movement is random, cars can’t use traditional network access like fixed connection, and vehicle density varies between different regions. Therefore the existing network technology can not directly be used to build MANET, we need to improve wireless connectivity network technology for random moving cars, adapt to the dynamic changes in the network topology. This paper mainly design hierarchical MANET based on P2P system, we use a dedicated high-speed network interface layer protocol IEEE802.11p, add a roadside functional unit in network layer to build hierarchical network architecture and improved location-based P2P application layer protocol. In the changing environment of network topology, we can provide users with reliable and continuous service by effective indexing and sharing of vehicle resources. The article first discusses the architecture of traditional MANET, including the basic functions of MANET, the structure of network, user application requirements and typical implementation. We also talk about the difficulties that existing MANET encountered, such as intermittent connectivity, limited data transmission, poor scalability and unreliable user applications; then we introduce new MANET that contains roadside functional unit and discuss the difference with conventional vehicles-vehicles and the base station contact; finally we analysis the principles and applications of P2P technology, propose a adapted P2P technology and discuss the improvements of search efficiency and decrease of overhead in network. The article gives the design principles of roadside functional unit, process analysis chart of the program and implement in Linux system and arm hardware platforms. We discussed in detail the principles of an improved P2P network resource sharing in MANET and its methods to reduce the redundant information while improving the communication reliability of the connection. Systems are able to expand the capacity without reducing the quality of service.
