Nowadays as the scale of software is growing larger, project management is facing enormous challenges, software size measurement has become one of the key issues in today’s software engineering research. There are several methods of software metrics, cosmic-ffp is widely used. It is independent of the specific implementation technology and platform, measuring process is very flexible, and eliminate the adjustment factor of traditional function point measurement, the measurement process is greatly simplified. But because of cosmic-ffp operation manual describes too generalized, is not strong to guide the practice, so there were a lot of optimization space in automated measurement.Focus of this paper is based on the analysis of the basic concept, model and measurement process of cosmic-ffp and the main components of unified modeling language (uml) and its function of theoretical basis, the mapping rules are put forward. First of all, on the basis of the complete concept mapping by induction. Then establishes eighteen mapping rules through analysis of three categories, use case diagram, class diagram, sequence diagram. Then author introduces the cosmic-ffp based on unified modeling language (uml),lists the detail steps of measurement process, the design of software metrics data statistics, writes out the measurement process of pseudo code, makes the basis concept to realize the automation of software metrics in the future. Finally author combines with practical work experience, takes fund trading website as an example, describes system requirements, use cases and calculates the scale of software by analysis.Lists the detailed calculation process and statistics as the data support.
