In the welding production field, welding equipments are adopted in large-scale. Large amount of welding equipments and a wide range of distribution result in many difficulties in such as production management, welding joint supervision and traceability. In order to strengthen the management of the welding process, achieve the purpose of fine production, it’s more and more urgent for enterprise to establish parameter acquisition management system of the welding process.In this paper, comparative analysis of current mainstream communication technologies used in welding parameter management system was done, such as serial communication technology, field bus technology, Ethernet technology, WLAN technology,3G technology and ZigBee technology, and ZigBee communication was proposed as a better method to establish the welding data acquisition system in the welding shop currently. On this basis, the paper carried out the following works:(1) Aiming at the multi-channel not common-ground signals, an isolation and acquisition system based on micro-controller STC90C58AD was designed, and the welding voltage, current, gas flow rate and wire feed rate of the welding process were acquired by voltage sensor, current sensor, flow sensor and rotary encoder.(2)A sending and receiving wireless network was established by SZ05module based on ZigBee technology, in the network, the microcomputer sent data to the host computer through response mode. The PC software is written by Lab VIEW, getting the MCU data by polling. The database by Microsoft Access was connected to the LabVIEW software to save the welding process parameters.(3)On the basis of hardware and software design, some tests were performed on the isolation and acquisition system, and some anti-interference measures were proposed. In the welding field, the welding process parameters were acquired in the welding, the wave form of the parameters could correctly and real-time reflect the welding process.(4)The bit error rate of ZigBee was counted by statistical confidence, which was better than10-2in the confidence level of99%because of good performance of anti-interference. In welding shop with strong interference, the packet loss was lower than0.05%when the distance of host computer and lower computer was less than200meters, it could be better through trunk node.The welding parameter acquisition and management system based on ZigBee has good practical value with qualities of economy, simplicity and practicability.
