Power Line Communication (PLC) is a unique communication method in power system. It uses existing power lines to achieve high-speed transmission technology by analog or digital. Its biggest feature is that it can use the existing power lines to transmit data without the re-erection of the new network. Electrified railway traction network is with a special power supply voltage level, which is powered for electric locomotives. Traction network has a solid structure, the network is more widely distributed and so on. Therefore, the traction network as traction power supply system of information transmission medium has a small investment, low operating costs, high reliability advantages of solid structure. In the transmission of electrical energy it can transmit data information. So we can achieve the purpose of traction network reuse. In addition, traction network communication can complement both wired communications and wireless communications to improve the safety and reliability of electric railway communication systems.Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is the key technology to achieve traction network carrier communication. It belongs to a multi-carrier modulation technique. The basic idea is to use a plenty of orthogonal sub-carriers to transmit signals. Not only can greatly improve the spectrum utilization while effectively overcome the frequency selective fading power line carrier communication channels and has a strong anti-inter-symbol interference ability. Finally, it can achieve high-speed and reliable data transmission.In this paper, the main research is electrified railway traction network carrier communication technology. It aims at achieving reliable transmission of signals traction online. This paper mainly constructs traction network carrier communication pathway, analyzed channel attenuation and noise impact and introduce the solutions of traction interference and unbalanced electromagnetic effects caused by the traction network. Secondly, we introduce the popular modulation and demodulation techniques and choose the OFDM technology as an ideal signal modulation technique. Then, introduce the basic principles of OFDM technology and analyze their advantages and weaknesses. Finally, author use matlab software to analyze traction network carrier technology simulation result and summarize the performance of this scheme, which lay a foundation for further study.
