Nowadays, the requirement for signal transmission rate gets more and more strict in network communication, which means that the speed of information processing of wireless transceiver system in mobile terminal gets faster year by year. The original antenna will not be able to meet the requirements of the transmission rate, compact and broadband antenna has become a mainstream trend of the design. With small volume, low weight, good conformal shape, microstrip antenna makes itself easy to play a more and more important role in the wireless system, but narrow bandwidth and low gain is also one of the inherent characteristics of hindering the development of the microstrip antenna. In this paper, the basic miniaturized and broadband technology of microstrip antennas are summarized and studied. With similar radiation characteristics to microstrip antenna, PIFA antenna is most used in the wireless communication system in recent years. By using the combination of microstrip antenna miniaturization and broadband technology, based on ANSOFT HFSS simulation software, two uniplanar PIFA for LTE/WWAN operation in the laptop computer are designed. One is discussed in the simulation environment of miniaturization and broadband technology. Under the condition of good simulation results, another model is made into actual design. The paper discussed various performance parameters in the simulation and application environment, as well as the relationship between the structure and performance parameters of the antenna. Two antennas adopt PIFA structure, the performance of the antenna in the simulation environment and application environment are in good performance.
