With the rapid development of society, more and more people pay attention to security,where video surveillance is an important part of security, but also there has been an important partof the study, traditional wired video surveillance systems based on analog signals, the image ofthis monitoring system fuzzy and hard to achieve full coverage. With the development of videocoding technology and wireless communication technology, many excellent coding technologymatured, wireless communication is also into the household.With the development ofmicroelectronics technology, more and more high-performance processor birth, which makesembedded devices toward miniaturization, high-performance direction. Under these conditions, itis necessary to design a wireless video surveillance system based on efficient video codingtechnology.This paper presents a wireless video capture system based on H.264, the system consists oftwo parts, wireless cameras and video server. Wireless cameras use image sensors capture videoand encoded into H.264format, via wireless to pass data to the video server; video server willsave the data into files for each camera, and provides client access.This paper designed and implemented wireless cameras and video server. The specific worksare as following: Firstly, we introduced the background and research significance of the topic, thepresent status and development trend of video surveillance technology, the necessity to use H.264and wireless. Secondly, by using Linux software system as a camera platform, we constructed across embedded Linux system development environment. We achieve the embedded Linuxsystem boot process, the system kernel and file system to achieve the basic requirements of thesystem starts, completed the embedded Linux operating system platform to build. Then, the paperachieved the camera video capture, presentation and analysis of the video image compressioncoding principle, according to the development of video compression technology, using H.264real-time video encoding technology for video encoding, and connected the video server throughthe wireless module, the H.264data is uploaded to the video server using RTMP protocol. Onehand, the video server receives H.264data from wireless camera, then stored in FLV format; onthe other hand,the server provides RTMP-play services to remote clients. On the client side, dueto the use RTMP streaming media transmission protocol, general video player software, such asVLC, access to the appropriate address to watch the video, RTMP player embedded in Web pagecan also play the video properly, which lets clients to play easily. This paper describes the hardware and software design of the system, achieve the design goalbasically. Through testing and analysis system, the system has been demonstrated to meet thedesign goals. In the end, I summarize the design, found deficiencies, but to improve the programand outlook.
