| At present, video surveillance has been widely used in all walks of life, and is becoming increasingly concerned. Video surveillance is widely used in the field of industrial productionã€safety precautionã€intelligent transportationã€public places etc, video surveillance system is especially important in the place which need real time monitoring but person cannot reach. The transmission of video image data is a very critical part in the video surveillance system, most of the existing video surveillance system are based on Ethernet technology wired network. In some special environment, such as the earthquake scene, it may be very difficult to built the wired network. Besides, wired network is easily damaged due to the natural factors, earthquakeã€landslidesã€windã€fires may damaged the existing wired network. In these types of situations, it is necessary to introduction the wireless networks technology to video surveillance system. Wired network has more advantages than wired network, such as flexibleã€convenient deployã€easy to extend etc. In addition, it is in high demand of extensive wireless video surveillance network on many occasions, how to deploy larger scale wireless video surveillance networks conveniently and flexibly has became a hot topic.This thesis designs a wireless video transmission system, which is based on ARM.This system has achieved video surveillance wireless LAN application in embedded systems, which use AM3517 as its core processor. At first the thesis gives system architecture design and hardware platforms frameworks, tailor and transplant the embedded Linux system on the hardware platforms, sums up many points in this process. For the two USB device used in this systme, USB camera and USB wireless cards, this thesis gives the method of developing its device driver. To increase real-time and throughput of this wireless transport networks, the author suggests implementation of H.264 video compression technology in embedded systems, and raises a optimization of H.264 compression algorithm. At last, according to the demand of the large-scale video surveillance network, this thesis designs a wireless video transmission system based on mesh network, which through this network can connect more wireless LAN together to forge a large scale surveillance network.This thesis describes the test in the final contents of the system, gives the performance of wireless mesh networks and wireless local area network system solutions and wireless LAN implements video capture and compression and wireless transmission. |
