In recent years,"Cultural Heritage","World Heritage","Intangible Cultural Heritage" and other words concerning the protection of cultural heritage, are spreading fast in our society, and are widely-known by people. The set up of the nation’s first eco-museums and community museums indicates our demonstration of protecting cultural heritage without doubt. It also means that the concept of cultural heritage protection is gradually changing from the traditional way to a new one, which is open, integrated and in active state, other than closed, partial and in static state. The idea and method of eco-museum and community museum has significant theoretical implications to China’s cultural heritage protection, such as, the principles of integrated protection, active state, local protection, and the emphasis on public participation as an open protection mode. How to apply the theory and measure of eco-museum and community museum into the practical process of the cultural heritage protection in China, how to combine it with China’s actual situation, how to improve the public cultural consciousness and cultural identity, making cultural heritage protection as a conscious action for the whole society, then achieving a win-win situation between the cultivation and protection of cultural heritage resources, are the main challenges we are facing right now, and government departments, experts and scholars, and even the whole society should think about in depth.Known as the living fossil of Lifang system(a architecture pattern of ancient streets), Three Lanes and Seven Alleys (San Fang QiXiang), has more than a thousand year’s history, preserving a rich material and non-material cultural heritage for Fuzhou people. Since1990s, Three Lanes and Seven Alleys has been through several transformation period, the Fuzhou government, scholars has been working on a sustainable way to support the development of Three Lanes and Seven lane. Fortunately, in2011, Three Lanes and Seven lane was nominated as China’s first community museum, it provides a new way to look at and deal with cultural heritage protection issues for other historical streets. This paper based on the core ideas of eco-museum and community museum, trying to provide some suggestions for the development of historical district renovation and cultural heritage protection in other cities, by combining with the current situations of the eco-museums and community museums at home and abroad, illustrating the problems that Three lanes and Seven Alleys community museum are facing, anglicizing the interactive relationship between the community museum and cultural heritage tourism.
