In this paper, spectral analysis methods was used to acquired and analyzed the laser pulse damage epoxy process and mechanics, combined with the theory of pulsed laser damage epoxy mechanism analysis.Epoxy was damage by laser of three different pulse width, combination of two different energy density and spot size, and temperature of irradiation area, parameters of plasma and morphology of damage were analyzed by the spectral of processing laser damage epoxy. It I was described that the mechanism of laser damage was influence by spot size comparing with the experiment, the theory and the simulation.It was compared the different damage of millisecond pulse laser (diameter1.91mm, power density2.51×10W/cm2) and nanosecond pulsed laser (spot diameter24μm, the power density of7.92×1011W/cm2) irradiated epoxy, and resulted that power density of the former was smaller than the latter but damage effects. The main reason of that was large laser spot was increase damage effects.
