Infrared dual-band imaging system, with its all-weather environmental adaptation capability, anti-jamming capability, and dual-band information complementing features, has widely used in science and technology and military. The DMD-based infrared dual-band scene simulator can simulate3D infrared scene in the laboratory, accurately test and evaluate the performance of the infrared system, reduce the research cost of the infrared system and shorten the development cycle. Consequently, it’s important significance to research and develop infrared imaging system.According to the requirements of the infrared scene simulation system based on DMD, the aberration correction problems of the projection system with a large relative aperture and the uniformly illuminating of the DMD have also been addressed based on the aberration balance theory and the characteristics of medium wave infrared (MWIR) and long-wave infrared (LWIR). The infrared dual-band coaxial scene projection system and illumination system are designed in both3μm~5μm and8μm~12μm wavebands. Aspheric technology is used in the projection system, aberrations of the whole system which has the characteristics of small volume and compact structure become much better. The optical system image quality is evaluated with ZEMAX optical design software and meets the requirements of technical specification.
