Abstract/Summary:
With the continuous development of embedded systems and embedded processors, the embedded systems based on FPGA for system performance, power consumption and personalized custom has increasingly high demand. The presence of soft-core processors comply with this requirement, the soft-core processor embedded in the FPGA in the form of IP core. By combining other peripheral IP cores, we can complete the embedded system design. Such systems not only reduces the circuit board area, lower power consumption, but also has a flexible design approach, can be cut, scalable, upgradeable.This paper by using Xilinx’s MicroBlaze soft-core processor, then conducted a research and design on the soft-core processors for embedded Linux system transplant and on this basis did the transplant of MiniGUI graphical interface system in the embedded system, and finally completed the key drivers and Linux application interface programming, constructed a complete embedded systems. Then using the ML605development board and a PC to simulate that a handheld terminal monitors the running status data logger and feedback the status and information of the recorder, to ensure the normal operation of the recorder, then forming a complete effective and meaningful FPGA embedded systems based on the MicroBlaze soft-core processor. Finally, by testing the effect of the whole system, the system achieves the desired objectives and reflects the application value of soft-core processor.
