There are some problems in use of foreign soft processor core.For example,high license fees need to be paid for it.Hardware description language source code files are not also provided.System based on soft processor core can not be configured flexibly.Technical support provided is limited.So the architecture and features of Loongson soft processor core LS232 are researched,and that Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA)is used for hardware platform is proposed,and an improved System on Chip(SoC)based on LS232 is designed and implemented.The main research contents are as follows.Firstly,the development status of processors in the aerospace field is investigated.The basic methodology and technical characteristics of SoC design are studied.And the basic characteristics of current soft processor cores are analyzed and compared.The characteristics of several on-chip buses are illustrated.And the transmission protocols of high-speed bus AXI bus and low-speed bus APB bus are mainly studied.The practical significance of system design is explained.Secondly,the basic characteristics of the soft processor core LS232 and the instruction set of the processor architecture MIPS used in LS232 are summarized.The SoC hardware platform and software platform based on soft processor core LS232 are designed and implemented.The construction of hardware platform includes the design of the IP core modules AXI MUX and AXI2 APB that are not provided by the third party,the reuse of IP core and the system clock planning.The construction of software platform includes cross-compiler installation of GCC,compilation of PMON and Linux configuration compilation.Thirdly,three kinds of memory interfaces in the system are tested and verified,and the embedded system SoC is tested and verified,and the system performance is evaluated and the resource occupancy is analyzed.The deficiencies in the design are summarized and the improvement ideas are put forward.Test verification and performance evaluation show that the system can run operating system Linux quickly and stably at the clock frequency of 68 MHz.And compared with the traditional SoC based on NIOS II and MicroBlaze,as well as SoC based on the new soft core processors RISC V and LS132,SoC based on LS232 has strong real-time and high performance.As domestic soft processor core,LS232 has a larger advantage in reliability and safety,it can satisfy the space demand for security and dependability of embedded processor.
