With the speeding up of informationization, the fa mily informatizatio n platformhas changed enormous ly, the home gateway devices have been gradually applied inmany fa milies. The router which rea lized the network transport layer protocol p lays acrucia l role. Using the existing sma ll house hold router, it’s not only of redundancy,higher cost, but a lso not flexib le in secondary deve lopment, low execution effic ie ncyand not co mpact in system structure. So researching the router is of very importantpractical significance.According to the characteristics of res identia l gateway, this thes is researches thehierarchical network routing imp le mentation in the fa mily gateway, the ma in workincludes:First of a ll, the bottom o f the hierarchical network routing in the fa mily gatewayis designed in detail. The router is imp le mented by the Iptables firewa ll syste m whic his in the Zentyal’s core underlying software. NAT technolo gy is adopted to map portand then communicate with the outs ide world. The bridge connectio n is used tomana ge the interna l network equip me nt unified. Add PPPoe, DHCP and otheragreements to expand the function of the network routing further.Secondly, in order to inte grate the underlying loose software system architecture,this thes is design and imp le ment the middle logic la yer in the hierarchical networkrouting of the fa mily gateway. This midd le logic layer is d ivided into two la yers, oneis responsib le for recording data, another one is respons ible for the server. In order toprovide a graphic interface for users, the fro nt-end interface and manage me nt aredeve loped. The developed mana ge ment ways includes web ma nage ment interface,UPNP management programs as well as network management, etc.Third ly, in order to improve the executio n effic ie ncy o f the QoS polic y which isin the network routing’s software system of the whole family gateway, the QoS policyand algorithm are redes igned and improved. Experiments res ults show that theimproved QoS algorithm has great advantage over the IP priority algorithm inaccurate data traffic distrib ution and keeping on the peak, ensuring the balanceallocation of the rigid network bandwidth service resource in the greatest extent. Fina lly, the syste m is deployed and tested. Test results show that the new fa milygateway routing system meet the needs of functionality and reliability.
