With the development of broadband access technology and the growth of itsapplications, the home network technology, which was originally just a concept, hasgradually developed into home gateway and other home terminal products. Promoted by"broadband China" strategy, the FTTx network is being developed and deployed in largescale, the "triple play" and the integration of the full service of operators also develop veryfast. Now, the intelligent home gateway gradually enters thousands of households, andevokes great repercussions in the market. Because of that, the equipment manufacturers areunder great pressure from market and cost. If they still develop products based on thespecific hardware design, there may be problems like low reuse rate of applicationprograms, different code implementations, bad portability and scalability, etc. This kind ofsoftware development mode doesn’t meet the needs of the market, so it can not win theprofitable market share. It even becomes a tremendous waste of valuable developmentresources.This paper is oriented to main trend PON uplink home gateway function. First, thefunction and architecture of the home gateway management platform are defined, and ahome gateway management platform scheme is presented, which has unified andstandardized software architecture design, and hierarchical and modular architecture. Thisscheme aims to solve the problems of existing software architecture. After that, this paperintroduces the design and realization of three important modules in detail, which areTR069configuration management, hardware adaptation layer, and platform autodeployment system. Here, part of TR069configuration management mainly discusses theunified storage design plan of configuration data model, and the configuration dataread/write mechanism. It aims to solve the existing problems like the complexconfiguration data storage design, the complex loading process, the inefficientconfiguration data read/write, etc. Part of hardware adaptation layer mainly discusses thedesign and implementation of adaptation layer of several drive modules, which aims to solve the compatibility problem with different hardware schemes. Part of platform autodeployment system mainly discusses a kind of platform deployment tool with advantageslike independence on specific plan, configurable automatic compilation and integratedimage making. It aims to realize the fast transplantation and switching of different plans.At last,this paper introduces the design of PON uplink home gateway prototype based onthe home gateway management platform. The test results of this prototype prove that thedesign of the home gateway management platform in this paper has good portability andexpandability, which can provide a basement with actual value and significance for homegateway product development in the future. The test results also show that this gatewayprototype is almost practical, and can be transformed into product by further improvement.
