In today’s rapid development society, traffic jam and pollution problem are increasingly serious in our country’s cities, combined with the existing system of large amounts of data and the lag of information processing, it restricted the economic development of the cities in our country. With the emergence of the Internet of things, people combine the existing traffic system with Internet of technology things. put forward the concept of intelligent transportation, And the Internet of things technology is applied to the construction of intelligent transportation system. It makes intelligent transportation improve the inevitable choice in the development of road traffic in the process of city. Besides urban road traffic is an important part of urban infrastructure, urban lifeline and blood vessels. It also is the carrier of urban traffic and logistics. It plays an important role in urban transportation, it has a certain theoretical significance and practical significance, has long-term growth prospects.This main work put forward and designed the urban intelligent traffic system architecture, and the ant colony optimal path algorithm is improved. First of all, on the basis of the research on the present situation of city traffic, the paper summarize the domestic and foreign scholars research on Internet of things and the intelligent transportation construction; This paper introduces the concept of Internet of things, features, architecture and its key technology, and provide theoretical support for below. Secondly, on the basis of demand analysis and feasibility analysis, combined with system construction the principle and the goal, this paper established the model of urban traffic based on Internet of things, proposed and designed the urban intelligent traffic system architecture type. Finally, in the system of the optimal path algorithm, it introduces the Dijkstra algorithm, A*heuristic algorithm, genetic algorithm, Floyd algorithm and ant colony algorithm and other algorithms, the improvements on ant colony algorithm method is proposed. Urban presented intelligent traffic system based on Internet of things the system architecture and the ant colony algorithm in solving the optimal path to improvement are insufficient, Also need to be further perfected. With the development of the Internet of things technology and the continuous improvement of the algorithm, the construction of the urban intelligent traffic system will be more practical and effective.
