In recent years, image processing technology plays a more important role in medical research. Medical image processing technology has been a main method to help doctors making scientific diagnosis on patient’s condition effectively. And it makes a great influence on the development of modern medicine. Medical image processing system is the specific carrier of medical image processing technology, which improves the quality and efficiency of diagnosis. It has changed the traditional way by judging according to the X-ray.Considering advantages and disadvantages of various medical image processing systems, we proposed a pattern recognition based system for total hip-arthroplasty, which is named MIPS. It can help doctors to observe the lesions of patient and perform some operations on digital radiography.. It can also match the suitable prosthesis type according to the features of patient’s digital radiography.MIPS is composed of basic operation, image transformation, segmentation module and recognition module. Basic operation includes opening, saving and cancel. Image transformation includes rotation zoom and ranging. Segmentation module is used to extract the features of the digital radiography. Recognition module is used to train samples and make classification. At last, we evaluate the reliability of the system. We make some tests of all the functions. As a result, all the functions of the system run fluently. The results of experiments show that:MIPS can achieve a high recognition rate with limited samples. So we can make a conclusion that this system can be an effective assistance for doctors’diagnoses.
