As the development of human society and the progress of science and technology,the demand of the people is rapidly growing. Book, playing the role of ideology andculture as a carrier of knowledge,is one of the main ways people acquire knowledge.Facing various varieties of books,how to scientificly and rationally management bookswill not only affect the reader’s level of knowledge and convenience,and also indirectlyaffect the reader’s curiosity. A scientific and reasonable library management system canoptimize the process for retrieving books and borrowing,so to develop a completelibrary management software is particularly important.Digitized library management systems have been well developed in the wholeworld. However, self-assisted borrow system has not been studied. In this thesis, Itake assign each book different weight and make it float up and down according to acertain rules, to distinguish the popularity degree of them. In the meantime eachborrower is given some borrow points which is consumed when he borrow books. Sothe main innovation of this thesis is to design the “point” in different weights. Theintroduced "points" is equivalent to the monetary in real life, and the "weight" isequivalent to the price level in reality. That is, I adjusted the price level bysimilar market economic model realisticregulation,in accordance with supply anddemand relationship and then affect the book borrowing time. So the whole system iscapable of satisfy readers’ needs for popular books can not, while regulate that someunpopular books not being timely returned, to maintain relatively stable operation ofthe whole system and reduce the workload of managers.In this thesis, I use PowerBuilder as a development tool for the foreground andMS SQL Server as the back-end database. By requirement analysis,combining with thedevelopment of related technology,a software having appropriate functions is designed.Based on full investigation,Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is adapted to measurethe factors affecting the weights of books. Then the system’s various function modulesand database systems are designed and realized. Finally,after testing the software,theperformance which meets the expectation is proved.
