The software of Visual Basic is used as development language. Microsoft Access is applied to develop the database. Open Database Connectivity(ODBC) is used to transfer the information between Visual Basic and Microsoft Access database. According to the actual requirements of the Hongji Book Store, the book management system for Hongji Book Store is developed.Through a detailed analysis of the books management system for Hongji Bookstore, the detailed design of the entire application system is done here. The library management system includes four modules, they are information management module, borrow management module, query module and fine module. And there are eight sub modules are designed under the four main modules. Through the design of the module and implementation of the module interface, the system can be used to manage the reader information, books information, borrow information, pre-borrow information and fine information. The user can add new items, search, modify or delete books or readers information on the system.After the testing on the operation system, module function, and error involve, the results show that, The program operation is safe and reliable. The system has comprehensive error message system.
