The Design And Construction Of Electronic Medical Record Management System Of Zhongshan People’s Hospital

Over the years, information processing technology and networking technologyhave gone through a rapid development, which led traditional methods for managingmedical records reform electronically. According to the research,96.10%of third-gradeA-level hospitals have deployed or are planning to deploy electronic medical record(EMR) system. In this sense, the managing of EMR archiving, storage and Exploitationbecomes critical. In response to hospital going electronically, this thesis is going toanalyze and discuss how ZhongShan People’s hospital (ZSPH) constructed its EMRmanagement system in the following aspects:1. The thesis will give a brief introduction to the concepts of hospital medicalrecord archiving, EMR system and the trend of EMR system development. Moreover,the method, architecture and the key technique of EMR system development, such asC#and.NET, is discussed in this paper.2. The thesis will then discuss the analysis and design of EMR management systemin detail, such as the requirement analysis and use cases. Based on the requirements,the EMR management system is divided into several modules, including EMRarchiving, EMR consulting, and EMR storage. This thesis also provides the discussionof database design, program flow diagram, database logic and stored procedure.3. Based on the system analysis and design, the EMR management system isimplemented based on Microsoft.NET platform, Microsoft Visual Studio C#2005andMicrosoft SQL Server. This thesis provides example and discussion of mainfunctions, including document management, automatic index, data examine, EMRstorage, EMR inquiry, application of EMR inquiry, application of EMR authorize, EMRbrowse, user login, user management, user journal, system settings, and so on. Finally,this thesis is going to discuss software testing of the EMR system.Except for efficient management of electrical medical records, the EMR systemmakes the following innovations:1. Linking the EMR system with relative electronic records, records archiving andmanagement is achieved automatically.2. Data consistency is maintained by data examination between records.3. The module of EMR consulting not only enhances the utilization of electronic medical records, but also prevent records from being illegally downloaded or copied.The development of EMR management system is valuable both in theory andpractical for the future development of EMR management system in hospitals.
