| Hospital Information System have become the essential infrastructure andtechnical support for the modern pharmaceutical operations, like fully functionalcomfortable buildings, skilled professional medical personnel and sophisticatedadvanced medical equipment to a modern hospital. As today’s society is rapidlyadvancing towards the information society, management information system plays amore important role than ever also, so that we are free from heavy workload andbecome more efficient at work. It is an urgent task to apply modern informationtechnology to pharmaceutical management capable of rapid reaction speed and highefficiency, so as to build a fully functional drug management system.Drug management system is designed and developed based on the reality oftraditional medicines management. Its application in hospitals includes drugprocurement management, inventory management and distribution management.Life-cycle approach is used during the development from system analysis, systemdesign to final implementation and evaluation of the system. During system analysisphase, function block diagram, data flow diagrams, E-R diagrams, flowcharts, etc areused to analyze the system data flow, functional model and information model. On thebasis of system analysis, design the system’s structure, code, database, input and outputmode and processing program. The system is developed using J2EE based on B/Smodel. SQL Server2005database is employed as backstage database to achieve thecomplete control on drug supply, dispense, and inventory.Drug management system provides a management platform for hospitals to keepstaff updated of the dynamic changes in drug inventory, aiming at timely supplydemanded medicines for clinical and effectively reduce overstock. Informationmanagement of drug stock can not only speed up the turnover of drugs, but also greatlyimprove the work efficiency and the quality of supervision, therefore guaranteetimely, safe, high-quality use of medicines. |
