Currently, the ultra-wideband technology is mainly used in short distancecommunications. Due to the restriction of power, the system performance is not very ideal.MIMO technology can be applied to UWB, which can not only improve the systemperformance, but also improve the spectrum utilization and expand the transmission range.The application of TR to MIMO-UWB has the characteristic of time and space focusing. Itcan gain higher signal energy in the receiver and resist the multipath fading, then improve thesystem performance, which is the focus of current researches.This article builds the MIMO-UWB wireless communication system model based onUWB system model, proves of the possibility of the combination of MIMO technology withUWB technology, and studies the system performance by using different space-time codingmethods based on this model. At the same time it gives the bit error rate expression ofMIMO-UWB system using space-time block coding in theory. In addition, it compares thesystem performance of MIMO-UWB in the same space-time coding but different modulations.That is, in the single-antenna ultra-wideband systems, in two receiving antennas and twotransmitting antennas MIMO-UWB system, in transmitting the same sequence and layeredspace-time coding and space-time block coding systems, simulates systems using TH-PPM,TH-PAM, DS-PAM modulation method respectively. The simulation results show that thespace-time block coding with TH-PAM method is more suitable for MIMO-UWB system. Atlast, the performance of MIMO-UWB system using Time Reversal technique is analyzed, andthe feasibility and advantage of the combination of two techniques is verified. The articlepreliminary studies the MIMO-UWB system model based on time reversal, which lays thefoundation for the further study of TR-MIMO-UWB system.
