Along with the rapid development of information industry, mobile communications become hot pursuit. However, as the number of users soars and multimedia data requirements booming, load of mobile communication system is on the verge of bottleneck. Improving correspondence speed and enhancing correspondence reliability already became the core competitiveness in the correspondence domain. MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) which uses more transmitting antennas and more receiving antennas carries can multiply transfer rate and improve transmission reliability. It broke through the traditional limit of Shannon theory in the channel without any increase in antennas power and any consumption in bandwidth. Today, there's no doubt that MIMO technology has become the vital technical in mobile communication technology development. MIMO combining with WIMAX (Interoperability Microwave Access number) ,which has diversity choice in physical implementation, expansibility in bandwidth and ability in strong anti-fading ,is a good choice.According to software engineering's method, we analyzed the demand in implementation MIMO, proposing that there are 5 function point which MIMO control system must provide, such as compelling Space Time Code , compelling Space Multiplexing, adaptive switching between Space Time Code and Space Multiplexing , compelling virtual MIMO, and adaptive pair for virtual MIMO. After analyzing the architecture of subsystem CCS which is the background of MIMO, we make a detailed description about the 5 function point separately. In this case ,we proposed two key technology.One of the technology is method of adaptive switching between space-time codes and Space Multiplexing based on the CINR, and another technology is the method to realize uplink Virtual MIMO about terminal adaptive pairing or broken pair. Finally, according to the function demand, we describes the test environment and detailed test cases. And we carried on the function simulation and the test verification. Result indicated MIMO has achieved the design target with enhancing system's throughput and the transmission stability.In this paper, we studied and developed the MIMO system in MAC layer, and provide a feasible design scheme. Therefore there was certain value in developing and realizing MIMO subsystem.
