With the rapid development of Internet technology,the negative effect caused by theshortage of IPv4(Internet Protocol Version4) to the Internet development is becoming moreand more obvious.With the development of the Internet,IPv4exposed some problems,and oneof the most need to solve is the deficiency of the IPv4address space.IPv6(Internet ProtocolVersion6) is the new Version of Internet Protocol,which is designed to replace theIPv4.Compared with IPv4and IPv6address length increased three times,fundamentallysolved the problem of insufficient IPv4address space.As a result of current Internet based on IPv4basis,but the design of IPv6is notconsidered to compatible with IPv4,this has led to it is impossible to realize overall migrationfrom the IPv4Internet to IPv6at the present.There are three existing transition scheme,theyare double stack technology, tunnel technology and translation technology.The experience ofIPv6deployment of past ten years shows that the communication between the family ofIPv4/IPv6address is very necessary,but double stack technology and tunnel technology can’tmeet the demand,this highlights the necessity of translation technology.In this paper,a detailed introduction of the work principle and features of the two existingmainstream translation technology,that is the stateful NAT64and the stateless IVI waspresented.Based on this,considering the shortage of the two kinds of mechanism,this paperputs translation technology for conventional IPv4/IPv6address and adaptive translationtechnology for IVI address.Translation technology for conventional IPv4/IPv6address including the statefulNAT64/DNS64and NAT46/DNS46,of which the latter is additional project of the former,itcan make up for the fault that the former does not support IPv4access IPv6actively.Adaptivetranslation techniques for IVI address include the stateless IVI and the statefulNAT64/NAT46,and can choose appropriate translation strategies according to differentaddress type automatically,achieve the random IPv4/IPv6node access any IPv6/IPv4nodeactively.Finally,according to the proposed scheme,a IPv4/IPv6transition phase application agentsystem was designed and realized.The system support stateful and stateless translation,cansatisfy the demand of arbitrary IPv4/IPv6node access any IPv6/IPv4node actively.
