Because the wavelet transform in a range of areas such as image processing, has beenmore widely used. Real-time image denoising based on wavelet transform is also increasinglybecoming a hot topic of the scientific community. With the rapid development of electronictechnology, the field programmable device led by FPGA is becoming the dominant directionof a new generation of electronic design, because of the advantage of small size, abundantresources, high parallel level and flexibility in design. Also provides a solution for therealization of high-speed real-time wavelet image denoising algorithm.In this paper, I select XC4VLX15FPGA of Xilinx Inc’ s Virtex-4series as waveletimage denoising algorithm processing chip, and develop software base on ISE of Xilinxcompany, Simulation tools use ISE integrated simulation tools and Modelsim simulation tools,for developing high-speed wavelet image denoising processing program to achieve thereal-time processing of wavelet image denoising.In this paper, the method of time-frequency analysis is wavelet theory. First of all, viaMatlab calculation and simulation to select wavelet, demonstrates the advantage of waveletdenoising method through compare the result of common denoising method and waveletdenoising method. Analysis of all aspects of the differences of the image after using differentdenoising function by contrasting the different denoising function under the effect of noisesuppression. Secondly, design a logical architecture with one-dimensional wavelet transform、two-dimensional wavelet transform and multi-level wavelet transform based on5/3liftingwavelet and symmetric extension method. Thirdly, select the universal threshold method asDenoising to complete the denoising module including data storage module, the thresholdestimation module and denoising function module overall logical architecture design afterconsider the effect and calculate the amount of the Matlab simulation. Finally, completehardware test in the digital image board that independently developed by our laboratory.Wavelet image denoising process work stably and could achieve the intended functionhardware by completing software simulation and hardware verification.
