Construction Of Knowledge Mapping Academic Research

With the explosive growth of knowledge, the constant rising of computer storage and processing power, and the development of information storage, analysis, retrieval, and visualization technology, knowledge mapping becomes an interdisciplinary study area of information science, scientometrics and computer science. Mapping knowledge domain is a new interdisciplinary field of study of mapping, exploring, analysis and display of scientific and technological knowledge and the linkages between them. The research goal is to use modern technology and theory to visualize knowledge, so that people can more conveniently and accurately get access to knowledge. The subject of the study of mapping knowledge domain of the current domestic and foreign scholars focused on subjects, themes and academic journals. With the subject of academic institutions, the paper uses the theory and methods of mapping knowledge domain to carry more in-depth research of the evolution of topics of academic research and other issues. From the theoretical perspective, this article will explore the process and methods of construction of knowledge domain mapping of academic institutions, and enrich the study of the content and scope of mapping knowledge domain. From the application perspective, this paper enables people to understand the unique "fingerprint study" of mapping knowledge domain through the interpretation of mapping knowledge domain of academic institutions, so that they can found that "competitive advantage", which provides information support for the development of academic disciplines and the establishment of research direction.The first part analyzes the research background and the significance of topics, and reviews relevant literature at home and abroad. Then the contents framework, research methods and major innovation of the paper are described. The second part proposes the concept of mapping knowledge domain of academic institutions based on an in-depth study of the connotations of mapping knowledge domain, and discusses theoretical basis, research methods and tools and other related issues of mapping knowledge domain of academic institutions. The third part presents construction process of research hotspots mapping of academic institutions, and builds an empirical study of construction process with the examples of part of the Journals published by Information Management department of Nanjing University and Peking University. The fourth part presents the construction process of collaboration network of academic institutions, and discusses the evolution of research collaboration network of academic institutions and the contrast of collaboration network of academic institutions and other related issues based on part of the data of published Journals of Information Management department of Nanjing University and Peking University. The last part summarizes the findings of this study and some of the shortcomings of this study, and puts forward the prospects of the follow-up study of mapping knowledge domain of academic institutions.In the process of the construction of mapping knowledge domain of academic institutions, the paper uses the methodology of literature research, co-word analysis, social network analysis and comparative research. Mapping knowledge domain and research collaboration network process can be operational to a certain degree, but due to the small amount of data, its effectiveness remains to be further studied.
