Influence Evaluation Of Chinese International Academic Papers In Social Sciences

As an important part of scientific system,social science is closely related to a nation's prosperity,and national government departments are attaching great importance to the evaluation of research results in social science,which are an important reflection of social science development.As the internationalization of scientific researches deepens,an increasing number of academic papers by Chinese social science research institutions are published on the international periodicals to improve the international influence of these institutions and academic achievements as well as the individual scholars.As academic papers are the main form of scientific research results,an assessment of the influence of the Chinese international papers on social science offers an insight into the international development of Chinese social science research.Academic papers can not only reflect the academic value of research achievements and the public's awareness towards such achievements,but also have extensive impact on project results,innovative research and advanced technologies.With the development of Web 2.0 technologies,the scientific exchange model and academic environment have seen significant changes,which propose higher requirements on influence evaluation of academic papers.The influence of academic papers needs to be expanded to meet the demands of epochal and scientific progress.Under the traditional model of scientific exchange,the influence of academic papers is reflected in recognition and absorption of academic value.Under the online model of scientific exchange,an academic paper is influential if the knowledge and information it contains meets the users' information needs and is able to acquire widespread attention.Influence of academic papers can only be conprehensively evaluated if we combine the two models.The paper conducts a comprehensive research on the influence of Chinese international academic papers in social sciences.In addition to the "Introduction" and "Summary and Outlook," the research framework includes six parts,with contents of each part as follows:In the first part,the relevant basic theory is systematically combed.Firstly,the definition of relevant terms are defined,and the study object and scope are clarified;secondly,the types of scientific communication are divided;thirdly,the theory of bibliometrics,the rise and development of Altmetrics and the theories and methods of evaluation of academic papers are elaborated,which are as the foundation of theory and method for this study.In the second part,the influence of academic papers and the evaluation framework of Chinese international academic papers in Social Sciences are analyzed.First of all,this part researches on influence of academic papers,including the connotation,types and processing of academic paper influence.Secondly,the factors of academic paper influence are analyzed.The paper constructs impact factors framework of Chinese international academic papers in social sciences based on the analysis of the primary and secondary factors.In the last part,the paper constructs the index system of the evaluation influence for Chinese international academic papers in social science.In the third part,the development and influence of the amount of Chinese social sciences international academic papers are analyzed.First of all,the analysis of the age distribution and trend of the amount of academic papers is carried out to understand the development stage of international studies of Chinese social sciences and to understand the world level of Chinese social sciences international academic papers' amount by comparing with other countries or areas.And then the academic structure,the research direction,the research institutions,the source journals and the amount of funded papers are analyzed.In the fourth part,the traditional influence of Chinese social sciences international academic papers is analyzed.The traditional influence includes Primary influence and Offline influence.The paper analyzes Primary influence based on the journal's Impact Factor and analyzes Offline influence based on the citation frequency and high level papers of ESI,and discusses the Influential relationship between Primary influence factors(publication time,research institution,paper's length,funded and the amount of the reference)and the indexes,then put forward the concrete measures to improve the traditional influence of Chinese social sciences international academic papers.In the fifth part,the online influence of Chinese social sciences international academic papers is analyzed.Online influence includes two types of Web1.0 influence and Web2.0 influence.The paper analyzes Web1.0 influence on the basis of the number of using times,and the Web2.0 influence on the basis of Altmetrics index.Furthermore,Based on the Altmetrics indexes,it constructs influence evaluation model use five primary indicators with media transmission,paper use,number of readers,quality of papers and credibility,and get AIF score of academic papers.Finally,according to the internal factors and the cited frequency,and the relationship between the Altmetrics indexes,it puts forward the concrete measures to improve the online influence of the international academic papers of Chinese social science.In the sixth part,the comprehensive influence of Chinese social sciences international academic papers is evaluated.First of all,with the integration of traditional influence index and online influence index,it constructs the evaluation model and conducts an empirical analysis of two data sets(including one control group)to calculate the influence score of each academic paper;secondly,the correlation between influence score and evaluation index is studied,and found out that the influence score is most related to relative influence factor and times cited of the source journal;third,according to the academic influence score,this part also digs out high impact papers and research institutions in every academic field,and carries out a classification for the covered subject areas according to the influence power,so as to comprehend each discipline's world influential level;finally,the paper putts forward some countermeasures to improve the comprehensive influence.
