Wireless Sensor Networks are modern information technology which is based on the sensor technology, communication technology and computer technology. Wireless Sensor Networks have a broad application prospect and great application value in military, agriculture, environmental monitoring, health care, industrial, intelligent traffic, building monitoring, space exploration and other fields. It has been considered to be one of the top ten technologies to change the world in the future. At the same time, Wireless Sensor Networks are energy-constrained networks. Because of limited energy of sensor nodes, the research of wireless sensor networks, such as wireless sensor network routing, data fusion, location and time synchronization, should consider the residual energy of nodes. The node's residual energy can be calculated through the model of energy consumption. Energy consumption model is one of the researches of wireless sensor networks. Energy monitoring of wireless sensor nodes is very important in energy-limited wireless sensor networks. The energy consumption model of wireless sensor node is the theoretical basis of energy consumption monitoring.According to the agricultural irrigation system, this paper proposes node designing, deploy designing, route designing and controller designing in wireless sensor networks. And in order to solve the problem of abnormal routing node, this paper proposes a kind of routing recovery algorithm of wireless sensor networks for agriculture. In the research of energy consumption model, taking modularity of sensor nodes into consideration, especially processor, ADC and memory, an energy consumption model of wireless sensor nodes is proposed. According to the energy consumption model, the component of energy consumption based on TinyOS2.x is designed. The component of energy consumption can support various energy monitoring of sensor nodes.TOSSIM which is a simulation tool built on TinyOS2.x can only simulate in the character interface. We must learn the running status of the node according to the character message. And TOSSIM also does not have the function of monitoring the node energy. In order to correct the shortcomings of TOSSIM, this paper propose a kind of residual energy calculation algorithm of wireless sensor nodes. According to the residual energy calculation algorithm, this paper designs the residual energy calculation components of TinyOS2.x and application program of sensor node. With the Qt software development technology, this paper designed the graphical simulation software. The graphical simulation software obtains the node information by reading the message of application program of sensor node. And the graphical simulation software shows the communication and residual energy of each sensor node during simulation of wireless sensor networks.This paper simulates agriculture oriented routing recovery algorithm of wireless sensor networks and Dynamic Source Routing algorithm. Simulation result indicates that the amount of packages under routing recovery algorithm is less than under Dynamic Source Routing, and it can reduce energy consumption of node effectively. In order to verify the energy consumption model, this paper implemented the energy consumption simulation functions of wireless sensor node on TinyOS2.0. Meanwhile the measurement data of energy consumption are collected on simulation platform and real hardware platform. A comparison of the measurement data with simulation illustrates that the energy consumption model is effective. According to the testing result of the graphical simulation software, the graphical simulation software can simulate intuitively and accurately the wireless sensor networks.
