As a new method of confidential information protection, information hiding technology has been paid more attention, widely used and researched. Because it is not feeling intellectual, robustness, safety features, it is closely linked to the protection of the confidential information. In recent years, it has become the main method of intellectual property protection, and has been widely used. Digital watermarking, which hides the number sequences, text, images in the products, is an important branch of information hiding technology. Using digital watermarking technology has many advantages in the copyright protection. But unaware of the basic characteristics of the information hiding technology will be found out by attackers and the watermarking information will de deleted, and can result in failing to protect the copyright. Applying the digital watermarking with safety holes to practical applications will cause unexpected losses.In order to develop and improve the digital watermarking technology, two schemes of watermarking technique are designed by using the chaotic system and error correction coding mechanism, and deeply discussed the safety. The main works and innovation include the following facets:(1) By analyzing the discrete wavelet transform domain of gray images, a digital watermarking technology solution based on discrete wavelet transform is designed. Moreover, the watermarking information is scrambled by chaotic mapping and the scrambled information is coded by linear block code for error correction. In the process of simulation experiment, some common methods to attack on this watermarking scheme are used to interfere with the represented watermarking scheme. The experiment proves that the based on discrete wavelet transform digital watermarking scheme has high robustness and safeness in the imperceptible situation and can hide large amount of information.(2) Because of the fractal dimension of the adjacent pictures is unchanged after the disturbance of the noises, a based on the fractal dimension digital watermarking scheme is designed. It use the idea of blocking, and the scheme hides the information by the fractal dimension of the adjacent pictures. In order to improve the robustness of the digital watermarking technology solutions, the watermark is coded by han plain code.The analysis and the experiment results turn out that while the scheme can resistance such attack and has high robustness, the capacity of hided information is restricted by the size of the block.The analysis and experiment result prove that an efficient and safety digital watermarking technology scheme can be designed by chaos theory and error correction coding mechanism.
