Thermal radiation method was proposed to measure pulse laser energy and was used to acquire the distribution of laser energy by inversion the temperature of target. The relationshi p of temperature and energy was built by infrared heat in a non-contact measurement of radi ation image and temperature matrix inversion of laser energy, with laser irradiation technolo gy which was used layer to absorb laser energy to heat. And three-dimensional field distribut ion was achieved by Matlab software.The test system was comprised of1064nm laser,500w power meter, thickness of lcm and0.5cm target, thermal infrared imager with accuracy of±2℃and range of0-300and software of data processing. The principle of operation was inversed the energy from temperature, using the thermal infrared imager captured the images of thermal radiation, which thermal energy came from laser irradiation the graphite film of1.8m far away. The distribution of single pulse laser energy field was measured by the simple, easy expand and upgrade system, and the error of system was7%.
