Laser triangulation is one of photoelectric measurement displacement commonly used methods. Because of using the non-contact measurement, not to be easy to damage the surface, material adapts broadly, structure simple, the anti-jamming ability to be strong broadly, accuracy in measurement high and other characteristics, it is obtained the widespread application in the geometric measurement domain. The auto-collimating function is to realize the important method of production real-time measurement, not only can guarantee the measurement accuracy,but also can raise the production efficiency.This paper has analyzed the traditional laser triangulation measurement principle, combining with progresses of actual production requests, designed one kind of solution which has the laser triangulation sensor head of self collimating function.This paper has explained the principle of laser triangulation method in detail, analyzed the structures of several kinds of laser triangulation sensor heads, researched the function and characteristics of PSD. Based on this, it has carried on the design of optical system and it’s structure, and analysed the error of the sensor head. The design of the laser triangulation sensor head that has self-collimating function can be used simply, precision high, volume small, easy to debug, easy to adjust and other merits.
