This paper discussed the technology of using the electro-optical Q-switching to obtain narrow pulse width and high repetition rate solid state lasers, introduced the development process of this field and obtains the research achievements. The features of common electro-optical crystal are analysis. Put forward a kind of method of using the electro-optical Q-switching to obtain narrow pulse width and high repetition rate solid state lasers.To cope with the project of one dimensional distance high resolution imaging system, according to the requirements indicators by imaging system proposed, actual developed a narrow pulse width and high repetition rate solid state lasers through the electro-optical Q-switching. This LD side-pumper Nd~3+:YAG solid state laser through the KD~*P crystal electro-optical Q-switching, get the highest repetition1000Hz, single pulse energy more than3mJ, pulse width less than10ns, divergence angle less than1mrad, output wavelength of1064nm laser. And use the KTP crystal cavity frequency-doubling to make laser beam visible. Will complete the laser as imaging system signal light produce part integrated into the system, make laser size structure, laser parameters meet the imaging system requirements. Analyzes and discusses the stability of laser to the influence of accuracy, and puts forward the improvement scheme for laser.
