Vacuum induction heating furnace is one kind of smelting equipment. Its Smeltingmaterials are mainly nickel base and its special steel, precision alloy, high temperature alloy,rare earth metal, active metal, copper and copper alloys, hydrogen storage material, NdFeBand magnetic material. The principle of intermediate frequency induction heating is used tomelt and cast under vacuum or protective atmosphere by vacuum induction heating furnace. Ithas the ability to precisely control the steel or alloy composition. Melting temperature controlis the most important part of the process of smelting technology. The volatilization of metalimpurity and gas impurity can be ensured completely only through a precise temperaturecontrol system. Melting temperature of the heating furnace is one of the most critical factorsfor the composition of alloy. Therefore, only high-quality-temperature control system canachieve the requirements of high quality, high yield and low cost of production. The optimalcontrol of furnace temperature is realized mainly through the optimization of controlparameters in real time, which can improve the quality of production accurately.Through the study of simple temperature controlling system model of heating furnaceand the temperature-controlling model of continuous heating furnace, It shows that the twobasic modeling method only focus on heating furnace, and many related variables are ignored.In this paper, relevant variables of the temperature control system were analyzed overall,trying to build a precise mathematical model.Due to the complicated heating process of electric furnace, special structure of heatingdevice, the process object often has the shortcomings of large time delay, nonlinear. It isdifficult to obtain ideal control effect by using the traditional PID control strategy. Based onthe Smith predictive compensation combined with fuzzy PID control method, lagging ofsystems can be compensated. At the same time, it also has same small overshoot, shortresponse time, stability, good advantage as Fuzzy-PID controller.Smith predictivecompensation combined with fuzzy PID control method was verified by Simulink simulation,and ideal results were obtained. In this paper, ControlLogix control system with open networkis used. It derives from the rockwell automation companies in the United States. Typeselection and design of the hardware of the controller was complete. RSview monitoringconfiguration software was used to make monitoring interface that can display the vacuuminduction heating furnace temperature, alarm functions and so on.
