Digital transceiver unit is the key part of digital phased array radar, and it is a multifunctional module integrating multi-channel design. The unit generates digital signal directly in transmit channel and complete intermediate frequency signal sampling function in receiving channel. Its research and application represent the latest level of the development of radar technology.This paper first introduces the concept of digital array radar and analyzes the working principle of digital transceiver unit, then puts forward digital scheme to complete the intermediate frequency signal generating and receiving by the FPGA, ADC, DDS as the core chip:in the transmission channel, FPGA generates the control program according to the working mode, frequency, phase, timing pulse control. Through setting the DDS serial ports, parallel ports configuration register, the signal is generated and sent to filter, amplifier. In the receiving channel, IF analog signal is sampled by A/D, then FPGA executes digital orthogonal down converter, extracting, low pass filtering. Finally, baseband I/Q datas form eight channels are packaged and sent to the signal processing unit through optical fiber.From the theoretical research and engineering point, this paper introduces the hardware design scheme, based on the integrated digital scheme. We completed the software module design, the amplitude and phase calibration, multi channel synchronous, EMC design method system, and finally introduce the test method and results of unit performance index.After the component and system test verification, this unit is very good to complete the eight channel low power digital signal synchronous generation, receiving and other functions. The unit meets the tactical requirements of radar, achieves satisfactory results, and provides reference to the following research and development of digital T/R components.
