In this thesis, a web based distributed project management system is designed and implemented used by financial project management office, Ningxiang, Changsha City. In the past years, there are two main ways in managing and processing projects application from difference cities and departments. First is paper document and the other is manual data handling, these methods are so inefficient. For the clerks, it was also complicated to approve and manage the project application in every procedure links. These methods can also cause the loss of application documents and delay of publishment of application result. On the other side, the people who want to know the realtime procedure becomes disappointed because the procedure of approval is unseen. To overcome the above-mentioned deficiencies in existing project management reporting and approval procedures, we design and implement a Web-based istributed project management system to improve the management lever and and decision-making level of Ningxiang,Changsha City, and also promote project management automation, standardization and regulation, to promote scientific research more useful to get the fastest conversion speed. This thesis focuses on design and implementation of the project management system. The system is clearly divided into the following modules:project reporting module, project approval module, project progress report generation module, project contract management module, project management module, etc. The system uses the mainstream B/S architecture, and select SQL database system which has the simple design and flexible language as a back-end of the system database management system. The system uses ASP.Net to develop. In this thesis, an object-oriented design and development methods as a guide based on the system requirements analysis, system design and detailed design, object-oriented development, and a single test and integration testing, and ultimately the formation of highly practical applications.
