High precision ball plays a very important role in the mechanical precision engineering, which is an important element of all kinds of precision instruments. With the development of industrial society, there is a greater demand for the quality of the precision ball. In order to guarantee the quality of the ball, we need to monitor the ball in the grinding process in real time.The grinding ball will vibrate at work and the vibration reflects the state of the ball when processed. Therefore, through the establishment of a set of mill vibration signal acquisition and analysis system in this project, we can realize the real-time monitoring of the processing of precision ball.By studying the characteristics and acquisition methods of the vibration signal, I determine to establish a signal acquisition system using virtual instruments in this paper. According to the characteristics of vibration signal, the paper establishes the overall design framework of ball crusher vibration signal detection and analysis system and defines the problems that need to slove so as to realize the system.The paper focuses on the study of the reason of grinding vibration,signal processing and analysis methods,and completes the system hardware and software design.The hardware part of the system is made up by the USB2812data acquisition card, IEPE acceleration sensor, signal conditioner and personal computer,while the software part uses NI’s Lab VIEW software. The software design of the system uses graphic programming language and the programming ideas of data flow, which realizes the functions of the acquisition, analysis, processing, storage and real-time display of the vibration signal.By using the vibration monitoring in the above-mentioned design and carbon steel ball with the diameter of18mm as the object of study, this paper designs a series of experiments to collect and analysis the vibration signals. The experiment result shows that the grinding vibration frequency is50-300Hz in the initial stage of the rough machining and that it is centered on600-750Hz after a long time of grinding and processing and the sphericity deviation becomes smaller. The sphericity of the ball changes a little in the fine grinding process and the frequency of the vibration changes a bit. The whole system initially implements the monitoring of the grinding process of the ball crusher.
